Week 12: Reflection

1. Due to time limitations, our team was unable to fully achieve the original vision written in Elina’s GDD, which included three different regions and two animals in each region. If we had enough time to create all three regions and six animals, I believe the game would have felt much more lively, immersive, and rich in content.

2. Since this was my first time being one of the main programmers, I was not very familiar with Unity at the beginning of the project. I spent a lot of time learning the engine and solving technical problems instead of experimenting with gameplay mechanics and exploring what would make the game more fun. After this project, I feel much more confident with Unity, and next time I can focus more on gameplay design and improving player experience.

3. During development, I spent a lot of time importing and organising art assets into Unity. However, in an actual game industry environment, this work is usually the responsibility of the artists. In future group projects, I would delegate this task to the artists so that everyone can focus more on their own specialisation and contribute more effectively to the project.
