1.Stage Overview
Stage 1:
The planting area is small, with a single plant species
A single species of insect, a single species of insectivorous plant, and a single species of meat mass produced
Less variety of dishes and fewer preparation steps
Stage 2:
Increased size of festivals
Planting areas become larger and plant species begin to increase
Increase in the number and variety of insects, increase in the number of insectivorous plants, increase in the amount of meat that can be produced
Increased variety of dishes and more cumbersome preparation processes
Stage 3:
With planting areas open to the maximum and an increasing variety of plants, players will need to start area planning to ensure that the right resources can be collected for the next festival
With all insect species unlocked and the maximum number of insectivorous plants, the player will need to be quicker in distinguishing different insects for categorisation.
The variety of dishes is increasing, the number of cooked ingredients to be made is also increasing, and the production process is becoming more cumbersome
By the later stages of the game, all resources are fully unlocked, requiring even more of the player’s time management and area management skills.
2.Level Design
Since the collection part of the game is made up of mini-games, I designed a few mini-levels
- Potatos collection game

This is a Snake mini-game with the same gameplay as Snake. Players need to use the keyboard to steer the character around corners and collect potatoes to gain this resource. The player needs to collect 15 potatoes to get the amount of potatoes needed for a dish. Techniques Character skill boosts can reduce the number of potatoes to collect (this reduction is randomised, ranging from 1 to half of the required number).
- Fish collection Game

This game I borrowed from flappy bird. the player needs to use the mouse to click on the screen, so that the character touches the fish, on behalf of the player to catch the fish. There are many different types of fish in the river, and the player needs to identify the different types of fish to make sure he catches the right one. (This is one of the fishing methods)

This is another way to get with – fishing.
Characters unable to enter the river to fish can fish using the Fishing method. Players can also fish when there are no festivals, but the fish they catch cannot be used on festivals. The type of fish caught by fishing is random. When fishing on a holiday, the probability of catching the desired type of fish is increased.
3.Difficulty Curve
I want my game to be a relaxing, healing, happy game so I don’t want the game to get harder and harder. In games it is the content that is getting more and more not the game getting more and more difficult.
In the early stage, the player’s encountered festivals are some small festivals, so the player does not have a lot of quests to complete, the main purpose is to let the player familiar with the operation process. The plants and insects in the community are all of a single type, so the player can collect them very quickly. The lack of resources also means that recipes are simple and the process of creating dishes is short. The smaller festivals also don’t have a lot of information to read, and players decorating the community don’t have to deal with a lot of information.
As the date progresses, the festival will slowly get bigger and players will have more and more information to process. The variety of plants and insects will slowly increase in the community, which means that the number of dishes will also increase and the process of dish preparation will become longer. In the same amount of time, the player will be required to become more skilful.
4.Onboarding and Tutorialisation
The game teaches through play, not instruction.
The game’s timeline doesn’t have a holiday to prepare for every day, and there is no holiday for the first few days when the player first enters the game, which is a buffer for the player. During this time new players are free to explore and figure out how each part works. Also As mentioned, the holiday quests will be very simple in the beginning
As mentioned, the first few festivals in the beginning will be easy and players will have plenty of time for trial and error. Getting a particular part of the game wrong won’t end the game or penalise the player, the player will just have to start again and keep figuring things out.
