Week 1 – Blog

Week 1:

Summer Project Presentation (PPT):

In this PowerPoint presentation, I primarily outline the attack mechanics, core gameplay systems, narrative framework, character design, and player agency within Monster Hunter: Wilds. This document functions as a concise, albeit incomplete, Game Design Document (GDD). By reverse-engineering the existing finished game and leveraging comprehensive information at my disposal, I crafted a GDD. Through this project, I gained a foundational understanding of what constitutes a GDD and the essential elements it must contain. This undertaking enabled me to explore the fundamental concepts underpinning GDDs.

Mind Map of “Movement”

The images I selected for “Movement”:

1.

This is the image I have selected on the theme of “Animal Movement”. The movement depicted here is quite evident; every bird in the picture is spreading its wings to fly. The act of birds taking flight is itself a form of “Movement”.

2.

This is the image I have selected to illustrate “natural movement”. In this photograph, the plants sway as they are moved by the wind – this is the plants’ “movement”. Though the wind itself remains unseen, because the plants are stirred by it, the wind too is in motion. This image thus encompasses two instances of “movement”.

Each photograph holds our distinct feelings for each one. And we add verb and nouns for our feelings.
